SO very pleased to announced that I’ll be playing a few Twilight “Breaking Dawn” Live Events in November! These events will feature several cast members, as well as a few songs by a handful of the “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ artists, of which I am privileged to be a part of! Here are the newly announced dates:
Nov. 10th in San Francisco, CA at The Fillmore (w/ Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz!) More info, here.
Nov. 11th in Salt Lake City, UT at The Rail Event Center (w/ Aqualung & Lucy Schwartz!) More info, here.
It will be so much fun to be a part of these unique events, and I can’t wait to play “Turning Page” live for the first time!
On Nov. 21st, I’ll be performing a full set at the incredible Hotel Cafe venue in Los Angeles, CA! (Please note the new date/time for this show – for more information about this, click here.) Cannot wait to play! Hope to see you Cali pals there! More info, here.
From now until Halloween night (at midnight), you will receive 20% OFFyour entire order (min. $15) in the Sleeping At Last online store! All you have to do is say Trick or Treat! -(enter in the code “TRICKORTREAT” at checkout!)
and then there’s the genius and lately popular “teenage mutant ninja noses” which MIGHT win this year’s best thing on the internet award, which i just invented right now… but it’s something special. behold:
my only question: how have we not been doing this for years??? it’s amazing and gives me hope that there are still amazing ideas out there, waiting to be found.

So extremely excited to have the opportunity to be a part of Private Practice again! Last season, they played two songs from Yearbook, so it’s quite an honor to have two more in this new, fifth season. I’m not able to say which songs it will be, but I can say that they are both also from my recent Yearbook EP series.
Hope you’ll tune in!!
If you didn’t already know, the official soundtrack for the upcoming film, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” is now up for pre-order!! The soundtrack features a brand-new song of mine called, “Turning Page”! PLUS on the “deluxe” version you get an instrumental version of this new track in addition to the regular version! Coooool. The soundtrack releases in less than 3 weeks and the film is less than 1 month away!! So excited. You can get a 30 second sneak peak of my song via the official Twilight facebook page, under the “Soundtrack” Tab… Click here.
PS here’s a list of things i love right now (iphone style):
1. Siri (my beautiful, new iphone-encased friend, siri is a gem to say the least. she’s the apple of my eye… get it? “apple”…) 2. Jetpack Joyride (a way addicting ios game from the creators of fruit ninja. jetpacks… joyrides. what’s not to love?) 3. Location-Based Reminders (reminders that are triggered by gps… the future is upon us. my iphone is official smarter than me. i’m ok with it.) 4. Turntable.FM App for the iPhone (as if turntable couldn’t get any cuter… boom. an iphone app of the world’s cutest music community. adorable)
one year ago today (october 1st) the first “yearbook” EP, “october” was released.
i remember feeling a mixture of overwhelming excitement and healthy fear on this day last year – so excited to be standing at the starting line of an opportunity to create non-stop for one entire year, pouring every ounce of inspiration into new music… and thrilled to show off the first 3 songs of the series, the very first tangible impression of “yearbook.” but entirely fearful because diving into new and unknown waters is, well really terrifying. there were no guarantees that this 36 song experiment would work – that inspiration would come in time to meet each month’s deadlines – that the songs would have time to develop and even be much good. the list of fears went on and on, as it usually does in the case of fear.
but here, one entire year later, i am overwhelmed with only gratitude and pure joy! this past year has been quite an adventure and i feel beyond grateful for each and every one of you who let these songs into their ears and lives. “yearbook” has documented one year of my life, and as i listen back i hear vivid feelings and memories that correspond to each month, and recently i’ve been so privileged to hear from folks who’ve said that “yearbook” has documented their year as well – as a songwriter, there just isn’t much better encouragement than that. so thank you SO much to each of you who’ve listened and supported over the year.. and to those of you who subscribed – i can’t thank you enough for the encouragement of such incredible trust… you gave your hard earned money up front to some random dude who happens to like writing songs, trusting that indeed 3 new songs would be written that you’d like to hear. it means more to me than i could ever articulate. the support and kindness in such a trusting gesture encouraged me and my songwriting process greatly from day one. thank you so much!!
so happy birthday to the songs, “homesick”, “next to me” and “watermark,” which were released into the wild one year ago today. thank you SO much for letting those songs into your lives, even for a moment.
a little while ago, i started the blog post “how it was made” series, which documents the making of each of these songs… here are links to check out how each of the “october” EP songs came to be:
“yearbook” gave me the musical work-out of my life – as a result, i’m more excited than ever to keep creating and to do it with more fervor than ever before. gears for new music, projects, etc. are already turning and i couldn’t be more excited for the future!
